MQ-100 Portable Integrated PAR Meter

Apogee quantum sensors measure photosynthetically active radiation. The MQ-100 has a sensor integrated into the top of the housing while the handheld meter displays and stores measurements. Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), or photosynthetic photon flux (PPF), is the wavelength range from 400 to 700 nanometers and is strongly correlated with plant growth.

Apogee Instruments quantum sensors measure photosynthetic light levels in both air and water, combining accuracy and durability at a competitive price. The sensor heads feature a unique blue diffuser that reduces spectral error to less than 5% for sunlight (direct, diffuse, under plant canopy, reflected from plant canopy) and common electric plant lights (fluorescent, metal halide, high pressure sodium), and less than 10% for LED’s (blue, green, red, cool white, neutral white, and warm white).
Each meter can store up to 99 manually recorded measurements. In automatic mode, measurements are made every 30 seconds with averages stored every 30 minutes. Daily totals are also calculated recording up to 99 days.
